Huge News for Refrigerators Everywhere

edited March 2019 in General

I'm trying to figure out a headline which refers to the stepping down of Bob Mankoff (cartoon editor of The new Yorker) in 2017 as "Huge news for refrigerators everywhere: Emma Allen replaces Bob Mankoff as cartoon editor of ..."

I don't get the reference to refrigerators. Because of cartoon fridge magnets, maybe?

I'd appreciate your help
