Erratum: Drake equation
Greetings from the Bay Area in California, USA!
I have spotted an error for the “Drake equation” in the online OED.
The online entry says R*fpneflfcL. However, this equation actually
includes the factor fi (the fraction of planets that develop intelligent life).
Thus, the equation should read: R*fpneflfifcL.
Thank you,

Hello @tristandestry.
Thank you for pointing this out. Our Editors have looked into it and have now amended the error.
However this change may not go live until our next update in June.
Thanks again.
