Can you help me find out the correct answer, please?
Father...me some money so that I...the books I ...for school
A. gave / might buy / needed
B. had given / could buy /had needed
C. has given / can buy / need
D. gave / shall buy / have needed
In my opinion, C is the correct answer but I am not sure.

[C] is, indeed the best, most natural answer.
[B] and [D] are clearly wrong.
[A] is stylistically awkward, but it is grammatical.
