Not the last of the Mohicans
Regarding OED's second sense of both the adjective and noun Mohican (dated, old-fashioned spelling of Mahican or Mohegan), I'd like to point out that the federally recognized Mohican band itself uses that allegedly dated spelling.
Also, I see no historical evidence that the word Mohican has ever been used to describe the related but distinct Mohegan Tribe. Even if there were some confusion in the past, there is none now.
I suggest moving the entry for Mahican to Mohican out of respect for their use of that spelling of their own name and making the Mohican people and their language the primary sense of the word Mohican.
