Are sense IDs expected to be changed over time?
Hi,
Just wanted to ask if there is a chance that the current sense IDs may be changed in some years down the road or we can take them as absolute constants?
Thanks

No. There was a change to the English monolingual data ids which hit us in the early days of ODAPI (the result of a big project behind the scenes) but that was very much a one-off and is unlikely to be repeated in the foreseeable future. Everything is now running off data with the new IDs.

Thanks for the reply and good to know that we shouldn't expect any such change in the foreseeable future.
But in case of such a major change, do u follow a practice of taking your API subscribers in confidence, informing them beforehand and making the new data available to them during the transitional phase so that they can make changes in code accordingly and test it against the new data?
Do you mind if I ask how you are using our ids (or maybe just the format of the ids?) as it would help us to understand what people do with our data and what we can do to improve their experience.
By all means, please email [email protected] and reference this conversation.

OK, thanks.
Got it.
